State Testing Tips for Success/ Consejos para el Exito en las Pruebas del Estado

Dear Families, 

Below we share 3 tips for success during State Testing time: 

1. Talk to your child about the tests before they start. Check with your child periodically during the testing period. Talk about the importance of staying focused during the test and trying their best. Have your child access the Practice Tests on http://www.caaspp.org 

2.Ensure your child arrives ON TIME every day. The testing period goes from April 30th-May 18th. Avoid scheduling special trips or appointments during this time. Ensure your child has a good night's rest every night. 

3. Make sure your child has a HEALTHY breakfast every day. 

Together we can help our children have success on the State Test!

 

Queridas familias: 

Abajo se detallan 3 consejos para el éxito en las pruebas del estado:

1. Hable con su hijo/a acerca de las pruebas antes de que comiencen, Converse perióÉdicamente con su hijo/a durante las semanas de examinación. Háblele acerca de la importancia de estar concentrado durante la prueba y de que hagan su mejor esfuerzo. Haga que su hijo/a acceda a las Pruebas de Práctica en la página http://www.caaspp.org

2. Asegúrese que su hijo/a llegue A HORARIO todos los días. Las semanas de examinación serán desde el 30 de abril hasta el 18 de mayo. Evite hacer viajes especiales o citas médicas durante este tiempo. Asegúrese que su hijo/a duerma bien todas las noches. 

3. Asegúrese que sus hijo/a tenga un desayuno SALUDABLE todos los días.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Rio Vista Elementary!  Rio Vista Elementary is fully dedicated to provide an environment conducive to learning in which students thrive and develop as global citizens. We believe each child can and will learn given equitable access to the content. 

We also strive to strengthen our family and school partnership so that we can collaborate on providing the best educational opportunities for our children. We invite you to participate in our school functions, become a volunteer inside and outside the classroom, and maintain open lines of communication.

TRAFFIC NOTICE!!!

  • The Rio Vista parking lot is closed to all incoming and outgoing traffic from 7:50am to 8:15am, and from 2:15pm to 2:45pm.​
  • U-turns, double parking, jay-walking or motioning children to jay-walk creates extremely dangerous hazards for our students.
  • The Contra Costa Sheriff's Depatment will issue moving and parking violations to unsafe motorists.
  • Please ALWAYS use the crosswalk when dropping off and picking up your child.
  • Students may not be dropped of at school before 7:30.  There is no supervision until this time.
  • ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP ON TIME.
